QUANDOO ALTERNATIVES · AUSTRALIA · REVIEWED 7 AUGUST 2026

Moving from Quandoo: the restaurant switching checklist.

Quandoo has announced that it is closing. Its official Australian restaurant page says the majority of services remain available for restaurants and diners until 30 September 2026. Australian venues should confirm their individual timetable with Quandoo, export the data available to them and have a replacement booking path tested before their current service ends.

Fork Time publishes this guide and is one of the alternatives discussed. It is the stronger fit when missed calls and guest messages are the problem. It is not a diner marketplace, gift-card platform or ticketed-events system, so restaurants needing those capabilities should compare the other options below.

CONFIRM THE TIMETABLE

The official Quandoo for Restaurants Australia notice describes a phased closure and says the majority of services remain available until 30 September 2026. Treat the date in your direct account communication as authoritative for your venue, particularly for exports, future bookings and any restaurant-specific contractual steps.

EXPORT BEFORE YOU SWITCH

Before changing the booking widget or marketplace listing, request and securely store everything Quandoo makes available to your restaurant:

  1. Future reservations, including booking references, dates, times, party sizes and notes.
  2. Guest profiles and contact details that your restaurant is entitled to retain.
  3. Visit history, preferences, dietary notes and internal booking notes.
  4. Deposits, prepayments, gift cards or event commitments that still require fulfilment.
  5. Floor plans, table configuration, booking rules and service periods.
  6. Reporting needed for finance, operations or dispute handling.

Confirm the export format before choosing a replacement. A file that contains email addresses but excludes future reservations, visit notes or booking references is not a complete operating handover.

COMPARE THE REPLACEMENT BY THE WORK YOU NEED

Fork Time combines guest calls and messages with its own reservation book, waitlist, walk-in tools, deposits and guest records. It has published flat monthly pricing and no per-cover fees. It does not bring a diner marketplace, gift cards, ticketed events or deep marketing automation.

Now Book It is an established Australian reservation platform with broad hospitality workflows. It is worth evaluating when local market history, gift cards and event tools matter more than published pricing or built-in multi-channel AI.

OpenTable is the option to assess when diner discovery is the priority. Restaurants should model the value of marketplace bookings against subscription and network-cover costs using their own booking mix.

ResDiary is a long-standing flat-fee option in Australia and the United Kingdom. Confirm current plan limits, add-ons, integrations and data-export terms in the written quote.

SevenRooms is aimed at restaurants and groups that will use deeper CRM, marketing and guest-experience tooling. Independent venues should compare the operational value with the implementation and quoted cost.

SWITCH WITHOUT LOSING BOOKINGS

Run the old and new records through a controlled handover rather than asking staff to remember two systems indefinitely.

  1. Export and reconcile future reservations.
  2. Configure tables, services, pacing, deposits and booking rules in the replacement.
  3. Import or enter future bookings and verify totals by service date.
  4. Test the booking widget, confirmation messages, cancellation link and staff access.
  5. Update the website, Google Business Profile, social profiles and any directory booking links.
  6. Keep a read-only copy of the original exports under the restaurant's retention policy.
  7. Tell regular guests only when their existing confirmation or booking path changes.

Fork Time does not currently advertise an automated Quandoo importer. Migration scope is confirmed with the restaurant before any booking data is moved.
