Fork Time productOne AI front of house. One live room.

Fork Time is an AI front of house for restaurants. It answers guest calls and messages across phone, email, SMS, WhatsApp and web chat, holds the reservation book itself, scores each booking for no-show risk before requesting a card, ranks the three best ways to seat a walk-in, prepares offers to refill cancellations, and connects to compatible AI assistants through MCP. Everything below runs on the same live book, which is why none of it needs to be kept in step with anything else.

Questions & answers

What is Fork Time?

An AI front of house for restaurants. It answers guest calls and messages on phone, email, SMS, WhatsApp and web chat, and holds the reservation book itself rather than connecting to one.

Does Fork Time replace my reservation system?

Yes. It is the reservation system. There is no separate booking platform underneath it, which is why there is one bill and nothing to keep in sync.

Which channels does it answer?

Phone, email, SMS, WhatsApp and web chat, plus bookings from compatible AI assistants through MCP. Every conversation lands in One Inbox against the same guest record.

What happens if the AI does not know something?

It scores its confidence before responding. Below the threshold it does not answer at all and transfers the call to your team with the caller's details already collected. It works only from the menu, hours and policies your restaurant has approved, so there is nothing for it to invent.

Does it decide anything on its own?

It books, changes and cancels reservations, and it answers questions. It recommends on deposits, cancellation offers and walk-in seating, and your team decides. Nothing is charged, seated or refused without a person.

How do deposits work?

Fork Time scores each booking as it is made and requests a card before confirming only when demand is high and the booking carries real risk. The card is charged only when your team marks the booking as a no-show. Regulars book with nothing asked.

What happens when a table cancels?

Fork Time checks your waitlist and recent enquiries, ranks the guests most likely to want that table at that time, and prepares a text offer. Your team sends it, and the first guest to accept is booked automatically.

How does it handle walk-ins?

It tests every table and combination against the live book and ranks the three best options: seat now, combine tables, an accurate wait, or a table for a defined window before its next reservation. Your host chooses, and manual seating is always available.

Can guests book through ChatGPT?

Fork Time provides an MCP server, so compatible assistants including ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini can check live availability and complete a booking with your deposit rules applied. You can also run the restaurant from an assistant: check tonight's covers, block a table, follow up unconfirmed guests.

Does it take phone orders?

Yes, on the $299 plan, through CloudWaitress or Square.

Can guests invite the rest of their party?

Yes. The booker sends an invitation branded to your restaurant, and each guest confirms in their own name and adds their own dietary requirements, so a booking for six creates six guest records rather than one.

What languages does it speak?

Twelve, and it keeps the booking context when a caller changes language mid-call.

How many calls can it take at once?

Fork Time handles concurrent calls for each location. Standard restaurant use is not metered by calls, minutes or simultaneous-call limits, subject to the fair use policy.

Do I keep my phone number?

Yes. Calls forward from your existing number and guests notice nothing except that somebody answers.

Does it replace front of house staff?

No. It covers the role most venues cannot fill: the person who answers every call, message and enquiry while service runs. Your team stays on the floor and keeps every decision that needs judgement.

Who owns the guest data?

Your restaurant. Every booking, profile, preference and visit history exports in full if you leave.

What does it not do?

It brings no diner discovery, so a venue that needs to be found should keep a marketplace listing. It does not sell gift cards, ticketed events or marketing automation. And it does not negotiate function pricing; it collects everything you need and hands the quote to you.

How long does setup take?

About 30 minutes. Fork Time reads your website for your menu, hours and details, and there is no hardware.

What does it cost?

$99 a month for reservations, $199 with AI answering every channel, $299 with phone ordering. Per location, no per-cover fees, no commission, no contract, and 14 days free.
